Southbridge: Edward J. Beaudry, Sr., 72, of 495 Lebanon Hill Rd., died Saturday, Nov. 20th, in his home surrounded by his family, after a four year long battle with ALS.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Jenny (Rice) Beaudry; a son, Edward J. Beaudry, Jr. and his wife Denise of Middletown, CT; three daughters, Carol Quigley and her husband Terry of Dudley, Jayne Morin and her husband Eric of Southbridge and Suzanne Adams and her husband Allen of Southbridge; a sister, Josephine Aucoin of Southbridge; nine grandchildren, Mathieu Morin, Kayla Quigley, Zachary Morin, Bradley Adams, Edward J. Beaudry III, Douglas Adams, Tighe Quigley, Nicholas Adams and Dennis Beaudry. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles E. Beaudry and Robert B. Beaudry. He was born in Southbridge the son of Charles M. and Florence B. (Lukowski) Beaudry. He was a 1957 graduate of Cole Trade High School in Southbridge and served 8 years in the Army National Guard.
Ed was a union sheet metal worker and belonged to the Sheet Metal Local 63 in Springfield. He worked for many years for the William F. Lynch Co. in Worcester, before retiring several years ago. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Southbridge and a member of its St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was a past president of the former St. Mary's School Parent Association and was an assistant Scout Master of Troop 140 in Southbridge. He enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, playing the banjo and the harmonica and was a member of the John B. Singers. He loved his dog Baby who was his constant companion with him in his pickup truck. Ed loved to make people laugh and always had a joke ready. He was most known for making people laugh when he volunteered performing as Pepiere the Clown.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 24th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 23rd. from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
