Biography

Southbridge: Diane C. (Poirier) Phipps, 68, of Worcester St., died Saturday, March 19th, in the Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge, after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 48 years, C. Robert Phipps; her daughter, Kimberly A. Blake and her husband Robert of Bedford, NY; a brother, Robert P. Poirier of Southbridge; two sisters, Jacqueline A. Ricci of Southbridge and Celine A. Mani of Brighton; two granddaughters, Megan Blake and Erin Blake; and nieces and nephews. She was born in Southbridge the daughter of the late Leopold and Annette C. (Mathieu) Poirier. She lived in Norwalk, CT for over 25 years, returning to Southbridge in recent years.
Diane worked at the Shore Haven Golf Club in Norwalk for several years. She was previously a Surgical Technician at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. Diane loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 23rd, at 10:00am in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton Street, Southbridge. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd, from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm.
