Biography
Southbridge: Stanley J. Petrelli, 65, of 60 Charlton St., died Thursday, July 26th, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.
He was born in Southbridge the son of the late William E. and Doris Y. (Zajac) Petrelli. He leaves two brothers, John R. Petrelli of Charlton and Joseph W. Petrelli of Woodstock, CT; a sister, Laura DeAngelis of Southbridge; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Fomo. Stanley was a graduate of the former Cole Trade High School in Southbridge and was the class co-valedictorian.
Stanley was an electrician and worked many years for the American Optical Co. in Southbridge and later for Cranston Print Works in Webster before retiring in 1997. He was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Fraternal Order of Elks in Southbridge. He was a 3rd degree member of the Detrianna Council 199 of the Knights of Columbus in Southbridge and he was a long time member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He enjoyed playing cribbage at the Knights of Columbus where he achieved a rare hand score of 29. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed classical music. Stanley was a very charitable person and will be missed by all who knew him.
Stanley's funeral and burial will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge. There are no calling hours.

The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
