Goldie A. (Ellis) Young, 72, of 57 Dudley Hill Road in Dudley, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Monday, July 16th, in her home surrounded by her family.
She leaves her husband of 55 years, Richard B. Young; her four daughters, Vickie Arsenault and her husband, John of Middletown Springs, VT, Robin Ingram and her husband, William of Oakland, MD, Kim Wilson and her husband, Joe of Brookfield and Kelli Miller and her husband, Tom of Dudley; a brother, Carroll Ellis of Dexter, ME; four sisters, Phyllis McKanas of Dudley, Opal MacDonald of Southbridge, Laura Lemar of Corinna, ME, and Caroline Cowperthwaite of Monticello, ME; her dear friend, Lillian Cathline of Dudley; 11 grandchildren, Christopher, Rebecca, Eben, Carly, Emily, Jessica, Ashley, Joel, Bethany, Kristyn, and Rachel; 3 great grandchildren, Kayli, Damon and Marcus and many beloved Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Olive Ackerman and a brother, Arnold Ellis. She was born in Littleton, ME, the daughter of George Eben and Sadie (Brewer) Ellis.
Goldie was a dedicated and beloved member of the Quaboag Valley Baptist Church in Brookfield. She touched the lives of many children through day care and Sunday school and was known as Grandma Goldie to many. She enjoyed camping all over the U.S. and Canada. She also enjoyed reading her Bible and music. She was a good artist and homemaker. Most of all she loved her grand babies.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 20th, at 11:00am in the Quaboag Valley Baptist Church, 175 Fiskdale Rd., Brookfield, with Rev. Dean McIsaac and Rev. Wally Tilleman presiding. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours
