Sturbridge : Anne M. Tobia, 92, of Sandy Circle, passed away on Tuesday, March 15th, in Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center, West Brookfield, after a brief illness.

She leaves many beloved nieces and nephews including Maureen McCarthy whom she lived with.  Anne was predeceased by three brothers, John Tobia, Thomas Tobia and Salvino Tobia; and four sisters, Susan Niejadlik, Lucy Wilson, Mary Conner and Grace McCarthy.

She was born in Southbridge the daughter of Camillo and Angelina Tobia.

Anne was a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College as well as Worcester State University.  She worked as a social worker for the Massachusetts Department of Welfare in Southbridge for 45 years prior to retiring many years ago.  Anne was an active member of St. Mary's church of St. John Paul II parish.  She was a member of its St. Rita's Society as well as taught CCD.  Anne was a long time member of St. Vincent De Paul.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 19 ^th , from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 247 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will follow St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge.  Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Saturday, March 19 ^th , from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the Mass.
