Arlene was born in Worcester, daughter of Arthur Ovid and Eva Marie (DuFresne) Carter.
Arlene worked for Morgan Construction for many years prior to being employed by Paul Revere Insurance Company as an underwriter until retirement. She lived in Worcester before moving to the Sturbridge Retirement Co-operative Corporation (SRCC) in 2007. Arlene loved the park community in Sturbridge so much so that she served as President of SRCC for several years. The Red Hat Society was another organization that Arlene enjoyed.
Arlene loved family with all her heart. She wanted to make sure everyone was happy and doing well. Parties were her specialty as she loved to celebrate life's milestones. Arlene would come to the house for every family event bringing an incredible dessert with her. Arlene finally shared that secret recipe. There are so many joyful memories.
Her greatest love and most dear to her heart, was her husband Richard. They were each other's lifeline. Arlene and Richard did everything together travel, shop, walks, fishing, camping, cards, bingo and so much more. Seeing a love that these two shared was so inspiring to all of us. They walked the walk together and taught all of us by example of what love was all about. Just the other day, Uncle Dick (Richard) said, "If I could buy her the moon, I would."
To all her friends, Arlene talked so highly of all of you. Each of you held a very special place in her heart. The joy on her face as she would share her memories said it all.
Arlene loved her faith. It was not just a "Sunday thing" to do. She lived it, she believed it. She knew the importance of God in her life, and it showed. The saying goes, "actions speak louder than words." Her actions truly emulated God's goodness to those she met.
