Trumbull, CT: Arthur H. Papineau, 79, formerly of Sturbridge, MA passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3 ^rd , in Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, CT, after a brief illness.

He leaves his daughter, LCDR (ret.) Michelle A. Lea and her husband John 'Dru' Lea of Trumbull, CT; his son, Mark A. Papineau of Pepperell, MA; his three grandchildren, Elliana, Ashlyn, and Rylan; step-children William J. Guyan and Denise M. Osowski and their spouses and children; siblings Blanche Waleski, Keitha Martel, Daniel Arseneau, and the late Virginia Gardner; and many nieces and nephews.  He was born in Torrance, CA, son of the late Napoleon Papineau and Marguerite (Leclerc) Arseneau.

Arthur retired from Galileo Fiber Optics in Sturbridge, MA many years ago. He was most proud of his volunteer work with bloodhounds and the Sturbridge Police Department K-9 Unit. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and storytelling.

His funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 13 ^th , from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge.   Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Friday, Jan. 13 ^th , from 9:00 to 10:30am, prior to the Mass. A reception will follow the service at The Publick House, Sturbridge.
