Southbridge : Arthur W. "Bill" Olson Jr., 95, passed away on Thursday, July 28 ^th , at UMass Harrington Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

Bill was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Julia A. (Liro) Olson, who passed away in 2020.  He leaves his two daughters, Susan Olson and her companion Michael Bordogna of Shrewsbury and Judith Olson of Dudley; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his two brothers Carl and Donald Olson; a sister, Arlene Small.

He was born in Norwich the son of Arthur W. and Ruth (Ericson) Olson.

Bill was a graduate of Mary E. Wells High School, Cole Trade School, and Worcester Junior College. He worked many years as Tooling Manager at Zero Corporation in Monson and as a tool and die designer at Brookfield Machine in West Brookfield.

Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the Philippines and later in the U.S. Army Military Government of Korea. He was a member of Elm Street Congregational Church and American Legion Post 31 in Southbridge.

Bill loved spending time at the camp on the lake in Holland, which he finished with his grandfather in 1951. He enjoyed just putting around the house and could build and fix anything. His Model A Ford truck, Myrtle, which he restored himself, was a favorite pastime. But most important to him was his family. While in his 90's, he cared 24/7 for his bedridden wife, Julia, for 3 years. He was a constant help to his daughters and extended family.

A calling hour for Bill will be held on Monday, Aug. 1 ^st from 6:00 to 7:00PM in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 2 ^nd at 11:00AM in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Southbridge.
