Obituary

Ormond Beach, FL : Bruce Henry Duhamel, 72, passed away on Aug. 23rd, at his home in Florida.

Bruce is survived by his older brother, Richard Duhamel, Sr. and his wife Helen of Charlton; his nephew, Richard Duhamel, Jr. and his wife Rhonda of Dudley; his niece, Deborah Duhamel of Beverly; and his grand-nephews, Richard Duhamel, III, and Ryan Duhamel, both of Dudley.  He was born on Feb. 6, 1952 and raised in Southbridge the son of the late Beatrice (Larochelle) and Henry Duhamel.  He graduated from the electrical department of the former Cole Trade High School in 1970.  He moved to Florida in his early twenties where he worked as a master electrician on large construction projects, including building schools in the greater Daytona area.

Bruce will be remembered for his love of having a good time and being a rebel on his Harley, as well as being the fun uncle, bringing laughter and warmth with every visit back to Massachusetts from Florida, especially at Christmas time.  And although he chose to live much of his life in Florida, his taste for lobster never diminished; every trip back to Massachusetts involved at least one meal true to his New England heritage.

He loved his first boxer dog, Trigger, fiercely and warmed to sharing his home with cats later in life.

His funeral services and burial in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge, will be private.  There are no calling hours.
