Sutton: Bruce Alan Nashawaty, 69, died suddenly at home on July 18, 2021.

He was born on January 2, 1952 in Boston to the late Aleck and Nellie (Bogaichuk) Nashawaty. Bruce was predeceased by his sister, Rosemarie Nashawaty, who passed away on Good Friday, April 30, 2021.

He leaves behind his wife Dona (Benoit) Nashawaty; his son Aleck Nashawaty of Gales Ferry CT; his brother and sister-in-law George and Marietta Nashawaty of Lynn, MA; his mother-in-law Alyce Downing of Sturbridge, MA; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A good many years self-employed, he also had careers with Boston Electric and Redstar, and eventually opened up Sutton Specialty Market on Rt 146, selling seafood and health foods.
A great story-teller, he will be remembered in particular for rebuilding corvettes in high school and bicycle trips from Boston to Canada - when those trips were actually feasible for young 20-somethings on a shoe string budget.
A private funeral service was held and internment took place in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Woodstock Road, Southbridge MA.

The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, directed arrangements.
