Auburn: Daniel H. McKinstry, 76, of Washington St., passed away on Saturday, April 9th, in UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, after an extended illness.

He leaves his two daughters, Amy B. McKinstry of Auburn and Kristin A. Sandberg and her husband Brian of Auburn; his four beloved grandchildren, Thomas, Kegan, Zoey and Saige; and his wife, Sheron A. (Jewell) McKinstry of Southbridge.  Daniel was predeceased by his brother, Jeffrey A. McKinstry.

He was born in Worcester, the son of George M. and Esther L. (Butterworth) McKinstry.

Daniel enlisted in the United States Air Force serving honorably during Vietnam.  He worked as an equipment installer for Verizon for 30 years prior to retiring.  Daniel enjoyed golfing and was an avid home landscaper.  Working on and manicuring his yard brought him lots of joy.  He was very active in his lifetime and enjoyed running, walking, and exercising.   Daniel cherished time with his family, especially time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Calling hours for Daniel will be held on Thursday, April 14th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St. Southbridge.  A memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.

Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge, will be private.
