Putnam, CT/Sturbridge: David L. Kahikina, 62, of Perry St., formerly of Sturbridge, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 26 ^th , in the William W. Backus Hospital, Norwich, CT, after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 25 years, Charlene D. (Lefebvre) Kahikina; his two sons, Joseph Kahikina of Oxford and Joshua Kahikina of Sacramento, CA; his three daughters, Jennifer Simmons of Montgomery, AL, Crystal Kahikina of Livingston, TX and Hollie Lempicki of Dudley; his step mother, Jeanne Kahikina of Southbridge; his brother, Troy Kahikina of Southbridge; his four sisters, Donna Miller of Fort Pierce, FL, Michele Morrill of Southbridge, Gisele Kahikina of Southbridge and Cheryl Kahikina-Marcano of Southbridge; his four grandchildren, Victoria Simmons, Samantha Simmons, Coleton Lempicki and Elliana Lempicki; and many nieces and nephews.  He was born in Southbridge the son of the late Lawrence Kahikina and Georgette (Loranger) Jones.

David worked for Norton in Worcester for several years before becoming disabled in 1999.  He previously worked for Cranston Printworks in Webster.  David enjoyed fishing and camping.  He especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Calling hours for David will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 5 ^th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a service to follow at 6:00 PM in the funeral home.  His burial will be private.
