Brimfield: David A. McCurdy, 63, of Prospect Hill Rd., passed away on Saturday, May 20th, in St. Mary's Health Care Center, Worcester, after a brief illness.

His wife, Amy (Wentworth) McCurdy died in 2015.  He leaves three brothers, Dennis A. McCurdy of Sturbridge, Michael J. McCurdy and his wife Ann of Fiskdale, Roland H. McCurdy of Brimfield, and many nieces and nephews.  David was predeceased by a brother, Patrick McCurdy.

He was born in Southbridge the son of George W. and Doris M. (Dery) McCurdy.

David graduated high school and enlisted into the United States Air Force serving honorably.  He was a career Air Force veteran serving 17 years as a chef at both the Pentagon and the White House.  David also served one year in Iceland as well as two years at Hanscom Air Force Base prior to retiring.  During his career he managed the Officers Club at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.  David enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and grew it into a business which he was very good successful at.

A graveside service with military honors for David will be held on Tuesday, June 6th, at 11:00 AM in Brimfield Cemetery, Brimfield.  There are no calling hours.
