Southbridge: David Pettinelli, 64, of Southbridge, passed away on Tuesday, April 19 ^th , in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, after a long battle with Interstitial Lung Disease.

He was born on September 23 ^rd , 1957, the son of the late Massimo and Mary (Perretti) Pettinelli. David received his Associates Degree in X-ray Imaging from Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, MA in 1978. He started his career at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester performing X-rays, CAT scans, and special procedures. He then worked as an MRI Technician for CMMIC / Shields MRI in Worcester, MA for nearly 30 years.

Dave was a fan of all the New England sports teams and was an avid golfer, with Oyster Bay being his favorite course. He enjoyed solving daily crosswords and all sorts of word puzzles. He also enjoyed traveling and would take trips with his family every year. David loved watching movies, especially from his spot on the couch where his cat, Siam, would sit next to him. He will always be remembered for his exceptional sense of humor.

He leaves his beloved wife of 32 years, Karen M. (Dukes) Pettinelli; his two sons, Kyle J. Pettinelli of West Boylston, and Derek C. Pettinelli of Southbridge; his two brothers Philip Pettinelli and his wife, Jeanine, of Southbridge, and James Pettinelli of Southbridge; his two sisters-in-law, Christine Kanemitsu and her husband, Robert, of Hilo, HI, and Kathy Leveille and her husband, Paul, of Grafton; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, June 25 th , from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 247 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge.  Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Friday, June 24th , from 4:00 to 6:00pm.
