Quinebaug : David S. Remian, 78, of Quinebaug Rd., passed away on Wednesday, July 6th, peacefully at home.
He leaves his two daughters, Racquel Johnson and her fiancé Jerry Arpin of Putnam, CT and Kristen Zamis and her husband Donnie of Charlton; his son, Jeremie Remian and his fiancé Angela Warren of Saco, ME; five sisters, Dorothy Remian of Buzzards Bay, Christine Laurens and her husband Al of Lewisville, TX, Cynthia Taylor of Southbridge, Claudia Hunt and her husband Peter of Witham Essex, UK, and Deborah Patrowicz and her husband Mike of Dudley; grandchildren, Christopher Johnson, Chelsea Johnson, Nevada Zamis, Chloe Remian, and Calvin Remian; his great grandchildren, Cole, Maggie, and Callan; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Remian and sister Sylvia Remian. He was born in Southbridge, the son of the late John and Nellie (Szczygiel) Remian.
David attended Ellis Tech High School then served in the US Air Force, where he was stationed in Germany.
He worked as an Oil Burner Technician for thirty years for Kenyon Oil Co before becoming a Project Manager for Drake Petroleum Co where he later retired.
He loved to hunt and fish and although he loved many lakes in the area, Spider Lake was one of his favorite fishing spots in the Allagash. He fished for land lock salmon and brook trout. Loved watching the eagle that lived on the big island in the center of Spider Lake. He enjoyed listening to the loons singing at night while enjoying a cold beer. David had a great relationship with the owners of the Macannamac Camps. Always loved lending a hand to help out with the building of some of the beautiful cabins on the lake. It didn't matter what he was doing as long as he was in the Maine woods. Maine was his Happy Place.
The family would like to thank Day Kimball Hospice for all their care and support, FCP Live In for their care in his final days, and Davis Place for their help in getting home, where he wanted to be.
Funeral services and burial for David will be private. There are no calling hours.
Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge is directing the arrangements.
