Sturbridge: Dawn L. (Covill) McLaughlin, 53, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 11th, after a long battle with cancer.

She leaves her husband of 14 years, William F. McLaughlin, Jr.; her eight children, Alexander Pratt, MacKenzie Pratt, Tanner McLaughlin, Michael McLaughlin, William McLaughlin, III, Kyle McLaughlin, Braedon McLaughlin and Paige McLaughlin; her parents, Keith and Diane (Raymond) Covill of Hickory, NC; her brother, Keith Covill, Jr. and his wife Shauna of Hickory, NC; her sister, Carol Causby of Hickory, NC; and her five nieces and nephews, Corey Covill, Madelyn Covill, Olivia Covill, David Piskura and Tayber Causby.  She was born in Danbury, CT on Jan. 10 ,1971.

Dawn was a beacon of love and joy, known for her unwavering devotion to her family and her zest for life. She lived each day to the fullest, embracing every moment with enthusiasm and grace. During her battle with cancer her spirit did not break nor did it even dim. Her sharp mind and sass frequently made an appearance even if her body was not full of energy. Dawn had a  love for birds and cherished the time spent with her faithful dogs. Her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the loving presence of her family, whom she adored above all else.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, and her beloved children.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and passion for life will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

A funeral Mass for Dawn will be held on Friday, July 19th at 10:00am in St. Anne Church, 16 Church St., Sturbridge.  Burial will be private.  Calling hours for Dawn will be held on Thursday, July 18th, from 6:00 to 8:00pm in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge.
