Charlton/Southbridge: Donald P. King, 91, of Masonic Home Rd., formerly of Southbridge, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 22th, after an illness.

Donald was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Joan V. (Carpick) King, who died in 2014.  He leaves his three daughters, Kimberlee A. Marcucci and her husband James of Southbridge, Stacy E. Petro and her husband Ron of Woodstock, CT and Dara A. King of Southbridge; a sister-in–law, Elaine King of NH; his eight grandchildren; Jennifer Mitchem, Brooke Ford, Courtney Ford, Tyler Petro, Sadie Ford, Channing Ford, Kyle Ungerer, and Hannah Ungerer; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.  Donald was also  predeceased by his son, Jeffrey P. King and his two brothers, William King and Robert King.

He was born in Southbridge, the son of  Norman A. and Alice (Blute) King.  He graduated from Cole Trade High School and enlisted in the United States Army, serving honorably during the Korean War.  Donald worked proudly as a regional manager for several Howard Johnson's restaurants prior to their closings.  He later worked as a tool maker for Arland Tool for 30 years prior to retiring many years ago. After he retired he enjoyed spending time with Kim and Stacy vacationing in York Maine each summer.  Donald was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and loved watching their games.

Funeral Services and burial for Donald will be private.  There are no calling hours.
