Fiskdale: Dorothy A. (Maynard) Provost, 84, of Crescent Way, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, Dec. 14th, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, after a long illness.

She leaves her husband of 64 years, Rolland P. Provost; her son Roland P. Provost and his girlfriend Michelle LaFleche of Dudley; her daughter, Denise Barrett of Southbridge; her brother, Robert L. Maynard and his wife Elaine of Sturbridge; her two sisters, Pauline Masse and her husband Donald of Clarksburg and Carol Cressey and her husband David of Bernardston; and her grandson, Michael Provost of Spencer.  She was predeceased by her two daughters, Deborah Provost in 1964 and Dawn Marie Provost in 1978.  Dorothy was born in Webster the daughter of Leon N. and Mary (Peczka) Maynard.  She was a 1959 graduate of the former Notre Dame High School in Southbridge.

Dorothy worked at Karl Storz in Charlton for 5 years, before retiring many years ago.  She previously worked many years as a medical assistant for Dr. Jonathan Scarlett and later for Dr. Mark Blais.   Dorothy was very active at the Sturbridge Senior Center where she ran the jewelry counter and volunteered as a Friendly Visitor for seniors.  She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing and loved to cook, especially desserts.  She and her husband enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years.  They also enjoyed getting in the car and taking random rides to wherever.  Most of all Dorothy loved spending time with her family.

A funeral Mass for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11th, 10:00am in St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours.
