Sturbridge: Edward C. Coffey, 81, of Caron Rd., passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 12th, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his beloved wife of 18 years, Denise B. (Boucher) Janci; his daughter, Lyn Coffey of Cape Cod; a step-son, Mike Janci of Sturbridge; a step-daughter, Meg Janci and her husband Matthew Bachtold of Uxbridge; his grandson, Adrien Bachtold; and his best friend Paul Dujardin of Boulder, CO.  He was born in Danbury, CT the son of Edward and Josephine (Sorrento) Coffey.

Eddie worked for 20 years in new product development for IBM before retiring many years ago.  He was an avid tennis player, enjoyed sailing and flying with his best friend Paul.  Eddie loved to travel and had the opportunity to travel all over the world.  He truly enjoyed his month long African Safari, as well as all the tennis opens.  In his later life he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the lake, and in Naples, FL.  He also loved every moment of being a Grampa.

Eddie will be remembered as a kind, caring, and generous man who will be truly missed by all who have come to know and love him.

Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
