Southbridge: Edward J. Cournoyer, 53, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, Jan. 5 ^th .

He leaves his mother, Jacqueline M. (LaFleur) Cournoyer of Southbridge; his son, Seth A. Cournoyer of Los Angeles, CA; his daughter, Chantal J. Cournoyer of Southbridge; his grandson, Archer; his two brothers, Robert Cournoyer of Southbridge and Dennis Cournoyer and his wife Kristina of Dudley; his three sisters, Mary Cournoyer of Charlton, Karen Cournoyer and her companion Theodore Metaxas of Thompson, CT and Denise Navaroli and her husband Steven of Charlton; his longtime friend, RJ Donnelly and his wife Lori; his two Godsons, Sean Blake, Jr. and Bradford Ekstorm; his Godmother, Dorothy McFarland; many beloved nieces and nephews; and many close friends.  He was born in Southbridge the son of the late Robert Cournoyer.  He was a graduate of Bay Path Regional High School where he was captain of the football team and the class president.

Edward was an iron worker for many years with the Iron Workers Union, Local #7, Boston.

Ed loved fishing, especially deep sea fishing out of Marshfield.  He also loved camping and spending time on Cape Cod and in Maine.  He was an avid New England Patriots fan.  He was also an avid Jimmy Buffett fan (a "Parrot Head").

His funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Jan. 11 ^th , at 11:00am in Notre Dame Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 446 Main St., Southbridge.  Burial will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Sturbridge.  Calling hours in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, will be held on Sunday, Jan. 10 ^th , from 2:00 to 4:00pm.
