Southbridge : Elaine T. (Ryder) Powlowski, 66, of Henry St., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 21st, in UMass Memorial Hospital, Memorial Campus, after an illness.

She leaves her son, Jeremiah Powlowski of Southbridge; her sister, Cheryl Mongeon and her husband Eugene of Charlton; three brothers, Michael Ryder and his wife Carol of Dayville, CT, Kevin Ryder and his wife Gail of Southbridge and Brian Ryder and his wife Eizbeth of Enfield, CT; and her long-time companion, Robert Broullette for Southbridge.

She was born in Southbridge the daughter of the late Edward F. and Mabel L. (Breault) Ryder.

Elaine graduated from Southbridge High in 1972 and went on to work for many years for the American Optical Company in Southbridge.  She most recently worked for Gentex in Dudley for many years prior for her illness and having to retire early.  Elaine enjoyed puzzles and reading books.  She loved her family and always looked forward to spending time with them.

Funeral Services and burial for Elaine will be private.  There are no calling hours.

Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge is directing the arrangements.
