Worcester – Genevieve Darzenkiewicz, 92, of Mary Scano Drive passed away on Wednesday, September 14th, in UMass Memorial Hospital Worcester, from complications of pneumonia.  A devoted daughter, sister and aunt, Genevieve was born in Southbridge the daughter of Wladyslaw and Pelagia (Gajewski) Darzenkiewicz.   She graduated from Mary Wells High School.  She went on to work for the American Optical Company in Southbridge as a fuser where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club.

In addition to caring for her family, she enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, crocheting and sewing. She was an avid reader and a consummate collector of recipes.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Edmund, John, Frederick and Walter Darzenkiewicz and her sisters Frances and Harriet Stolarczyk and Irene Jankowski. She leaves behind several generations of nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass for Genevieve will be held on Friday, October 14th at 11:00 am in St. Mary's Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St, Southbridge.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Webster.  There are no calling hours.
