Southbridge: Helen R. (Boucher) Duquette, 91, passed away on Saturday, May 28 ^th , in the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, after a long illness.

She leaves her husband of 64 years, Ernest A. Duquette; her daughter, Jan DiGregorio and her husband David of Southbridge; and her granddaughter, Lauren DiGregorio of Southbridge.  She was predeceased by her three brothers, Roger Boucher, Leonard Boucher and Roland Boucher and her sister, Jeannette Reim.  Helen was born in Southbridge the daughter of Victor and Aldea (Racine) Boucher.  She received her Bachelor's degree from Bridgewater State College and her Master's degree in Health and Physical Education from Springfield College.

Helen was a professor of Health and Physical Education at Worcester State College for 25 years, prior to her retirement.  Her career in in Physical Education began with the former Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge and she subsequently taught at Tantasqua Regional High School before going on to Worcester State.  Helen also coached gymnastics during her tenure at Tantasqua.  She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Cohasse Country Club in Southbridge.  Until recently, Helen and Ernest wintered in Jupiter, FL, where they had resided for 6 months out of the year beginning in 1990.

Her family wishes to convey their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate and tireless 3 ^rd floor professionals that cared for her at the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, June 4 ^th , from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 10:00am in Notre Dame Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 446 Main St., Southbridge.  Burial in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge, will be held at the convenience of the family.  Calling hours in funeral home will be held Friday, June 3 ^rd , from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
