Auburn/Southbridge: Helen L. (Swiatek) Johnson, 94, formerly of Eddy Pond in Auburn and a longtime resident of Southbridge, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 28 ^th , in the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, Charlton, after a long illness.

Her husband, Donald W. Johnson, passed away in 1985.  She was predeceased by her two sons, Jeffrey Johnson in 1971 and Michael Johnson in 2014.  She leaves her sister, Sophie Ferron and her husband Ronald of Westfield; and several nieces and nephews.  Helen was also predeceased by her two brothers, Edwin Swiatek and John Swiatek and her two sisters, Jane Borowiec and Florence Jez.  She was born in Chicopee the daughter of John and Mary (Ciejka) Swiatek.

Helen was the Veteran's Agent for the Town of Southbridge for many years, retiring many years ago.  She previously worked at Southbridge Savings Bank for several years. Helen loved to travel and traveled to everywhere she wanted to go.  She traveled often with her two sisters, Jane and Sophie.  She enjoyed family gatherings and the Polish food at the gatherings.  Helen also enjoyed Polish music.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 3rd, from the Daniel T Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge.   A Calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 3rd, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to the Mass.
