North Grosvenordale, CT : Henry G. "Hank" Benoit, 77, passed away on Tuesday, March 24th, after a long illness.

He leaves his three sisters, Judith Curboy of Southbridge, Linda Baker and her husband Ray Baker of Lakewood Ranch, FL and Anne Morris and her husband Robert Bruce Morris of Riverside, RI; his brother Clifford Benoit of Southbridge; several nieces and nephews and his best friends, Mike and Debbie Southwell and family and John and Judy Carpenter family.   He also leaves his beloved dog, Jack.  He was predeceased by his two brothers, Roger Benoit and Bruce Benoit.  Henry was born in Southbridge, the son of Adolphus H. and Anna (Nyeholt) Benoit.

Henry worked at Paquette Stationary in Southbridge and Universal Tag in Sturbridge and Dudley until his retirement.

His lifelong passion for racecars would often find him at Thompson Speedway in the pit supporting the crews.  He was well respected in the racing circle as an excellent mechanic.

Henry's funeral services will be private.  There are no calling hours.

The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Henry "Hank" Benoit's name to the Thompson Animal Control, P.O. Box 899, N. Grosvenordale, CT 06255 to assist with the care of his beloved dog, Jack.
