Sturbridge: Irene B. (Labonte) Duval, 89, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Thursday, Oct 20th, surrounded by her loving family.

Her beloved husband, J. Roger Duval died in 1990.  She leaves her two daughters, Johnna D. Coggin and her husband Mark of Boston and Paula D. Menard of Sturbridge; her three brothers, Arsene "Sam" Labonte of Florida, Leo Labonte of Oxford, and Robert Labonte of Florida; a sister, Doris Pion of Plymouth; her three grandchildren, Michaela Menard and her partner Brandon Sablack, Nicholas Coggin and his wife Jenna and Alexander Coggin and his wife Elaina; and many nieces and nephews.  Irene was predeceased by her daughter, Debra J. Duval and her brothers, Bernard Labonte of Sturbridge and Richard Labonte of Texas.  She was born in North Grosvenordale, CT the daughter of Joseph and Odila (Mailloux) Labonte.

Irene worked for many years as a gift shop sales associate at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge before retiring.  She was an avid golfer, Red Sox fan, and enjoyed bowling, extended visits with her siblings in Florida and traveling the world.  Irene was a member and Eucharistic minister of St. Anne St. Patrick's Parish in Sturbridge.  She loved her family dearly and cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren, siblings, close friends, and her beloved pup Sadie.

A funeral Mass for Irene will be held on Friday, Oct. 28 ^th , at 10:00 am in St. Anne Church, 16 Church St., Sturbridge.  Burial will follow in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge.  There are no calling hours.
