North Port, FL: James C. Jowett, 75, of Sabal Trace Dr., North Port, FL passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Sept. 10th, after an illness.

He leaves his son, Scott Jowett of Newington, CT; his niece, Amy Valle and her husband Craig and their children Tristen and Talyn; his nephew, Timothy Wondolowski and his wife Sara and their children Emily, Benjamin and Jacob; his brother-in-law, Joseph Wondolowski; and former wife, Linda (Langevin) Zonia and her husband David Zonia. James was predeceased by his long-time companion Pamela Sjoblom and a sister, Patricia Wondolowski.

He was born in Southbridge on September 27,1947, the son of Carl W. and Ruth I. (Brousseau) Jowett. He was a graduate of Southbridge High School, where he played football.  He later joined the Air Force in 1968 where he served at Da Nang air base in Vietnam.  He was honorably discharged in 1974 as a sergeant.  Later he joined the Southbridge Police Department and then moved on to the Connecticut State Police where he retired as a detective. Jim loved the beach and the pool, so he decided to move to sunny Florida, where those were open year-round.

A service for James will be held on Thursday, November 2nd, at 10 am in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, MA 01550.  Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
