Sturbridge: James C. Montgomery, 53, passed away on Friday, Feb. 19 ^th ,  at Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge, after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 18 years, Donna (Pettinella) Montgomery; his son, Tyler Antonio Montgomery of Sturbridge; his two sisters, Patricia Baldus and her husband Dr Loren of Searsport, ME and Jennifer Montgomery-Rice and her husband Bob of Hampden, ME; his seven nieces and nephews, Benjamin Baldus, Katrina Baldus, Matthew Montgomery-Rice, Morgan Montgomery-Rice, Michael Pizzella, Ava Pizzella and Wyatt St. Germain; and four great nieces and nephews.  He was born in Richmond, VA the son of the late Richard C. and Sharon C. (Harvey) Montgomery. James served in the US Army for 8 years and was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Jim was a self-employed electrician for the past 13 years.  He also drove school bus for the Town of Sturbridge for several years.  He grew up in Searsport, ME, and often returned there to connect with his friends and family.  He loved the ocean and the mountains of Maine.  Above all, Jim loved kids and held family and friends close to his heart.  He was a best friend to many and could always be counted on.  He enjoyed fishing, hiking, nature, lobster and coffee.

Calling hours for Jim will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25 ^th , from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm in the funeral home.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
