Southbridge : Jane T. (Battista) Despres, 77, of Breakneck Rd., passed away on Friday, Jan. 28th, in Overlook Masonic Health Care, Charlton, after a brief illness.

She leaves her beloved husband of 50 years, Paul S. Despres; her son, Stephen P. Despres and his wife Victoria of Woodstock, CT; her daughter, Tammy R. Gropman and her husband Steven of Bridgewater; her sister, Kathleen Chamberland and her husband Paul of Southbridge; her four grandchildren, Dominic Despres, Natalie Despres, Sophia Gropman and Abigail Gropman; and many Nieces and Nephews.

She was born in Southbridge the daughter of Dominic and Mary (Sinni) Battista.

Jane was a devoted Catholic and member of St. John Paul II Parish.  She enjoyed trips to the ocean and Christmas.  Jane loved to decorate for Christmas, not only the outside but also the inside of her home into the perfect winter wonderland for the holiday season.  Her greatest love was truly spending time with Paul, her two kids and her grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass for Jane will be held on Friday, Feb. 11 ^th at 11:00 am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 247 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will be private.
