Southbridge : Jean S. Mateychuk of Riverview Pl., 79, passed away on June 15, 2025, at home with her family by her side, after an illness.

Jean is survived by her husband of 27 years David Loiselle of Southbridge; her sons, Aaron Mateychuk of Framingham and Erik Ricci of California; her daughters, Nadine Mateychuk of Northampton, NH, Alyssa Thornley and her husband Johnny of TX; step-daughters, Kelsy Mejjiarodarte of California and Raylena Stewart and her husband mike of Wayne, PA; brothers, Ronald Ledoux of Sturbridge, Samuel Stahl and his wife Dianne of CO, Charlie Stahl and his wife Nancy of Upton, David Stahl and his wife Michele of Katey, TX, Bruce Stahl and his wife Anne of NC, and Jon Stahl and his wife Sandy of AK; sisters, Janet Towle and her husband Everett of NM and Edna Dresser and her husband Jerry of Manchaug; daughter-in-laws, Lauren Mateychuk of Holden, Trina Mateychuk of Worcester and Jennifer of Framingham; a very close friend, Deb Howard and her husband Terry of CT; 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sons, James Mateychuk and Eric Mateychuk.  She was predeceased by her sisters, Denise Rivers, Diane Brothers, Christine Stahl, Anne Stahl, and Sonya Gerrin.

Jean was born in Worcester, the daughter of Jacob and Bernadette (Salois) Stahl.

Jean was always kind to everyone. She worked hard at the important things and set excellent examples of how to live that way. Jean was a good Mum and loved her family and friends very much.

She was extremely creative with fabric art and was generously gifted in everything she created; leaving everyone with warm quilts and many other beautiful items for all to be comforted by, made from her heart and her hands.

She had many happy decades with the love of her life-Dave.

A Celebration of Life for Jean will be held on Thursday, July 17th, in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge at 11:00am.  A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Thursday, July 17th, from 10:00 to 11:00am, prior to the service. Burial will be private.
