Auburn: John D. "Dan" McGann III, 55, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, Sept. 8th, in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after a brief illness.

He leaves his beloved wife of 20 years, Stacy L. (Gallaway) McGann; a sister-in-law, Lynn Leigher and her husband Kirk of Oxford; a brother-in-law, Brian Gallaway and his wife Kim of Auburn; three nieces, Kristen Outler and her husband Anthony, Kelsey Wilson and her husband Matt, and Brooke Gallaway; a nephew, Colin Gallaway; three great nieces, Avery Outler, Maeve Outler and Everleigh Wilson; his close friends, Jim, Al, Tina and his loyal cat Cassidy.

He was born in Worcester the son of the late Loretta F. (Hallock) McGann.    Dan obtained his Master's Degree in Business Administration.  He was a family man who cherished his time spent with family and friends.  Dan adored the family that Stacy brought into his life when they met.  He will be remembered for his love of story-telling,  passion for investing and trading stocks, and great sense of humor. Dan would always say, "You have two choices in life, laugh or cry.", and Dan always chose laughter.

Funeral services and burial for Dan will be private.

There are no calling hours.
