Brookfield: John T. "Jack" Watterson, 79, of Deer Run., passed away on Friday, April 1st, in Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Care, Southbridge, after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife and best friend of 33 years, Carol A. (Rheaume) Watterson; his six sons, John Watterson, Jr., Daniel Watterson of Worcester, Ronald Fanion of CT and Donald Fanion and his wife Amy of CT, Joel Lyons of Florida, Christopher Lyons and his wife Vicki of Leicester; his daughter, Michelle Fanion and her companion, Chuck Stocks of Sturbridge and Leah Lyons of Douglas; a brother, Thomas F. Watterson and his wife Cathy of Worcester; his beloved twelve grandchildren, Steven Watterson, Rachel Watterson, Sara Watterson, Mira Watterson, Daniel Waterson, Dino Gleason, Samantha DuBois, Joshua Fanion, Autumn Fanion, Mark Wozniak, Lourah Kelly and Taylor Seaboyer; five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews as well as several foster children.

Jack was predeceased by a son, David Watterson.

He was born in Worcester the son of Edward J. and Ruth E. (Grimley) Watterson.

Jack enlisted a served honorably in the US Airforce during Vietnam.  He owned and operated a very successful canteen truck called "Jacks Catering" for 10 years prior to retiring.  Jack was an avid New England sports fan.  He enjoyed taking cruises with his wife Carol.  The two loved dancing and he was a fan of singing Karaoke.  Jack was a family man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He especially loved family cards games.

Calling hours for Jack will be held on Friday, April 8th, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St. Southbridge.  A memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm in the funeral home.  Burial will be private.
