Southbridge : Jose E. Ribot, 71, of Charlton St., passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, Jan. 28 ^th , after a long illness.

He leaves his beloved daughters, Yamaiea Ribot of Puerto Rico, Kelly A. Ribot of Southbridge and Jaeliz Ribot of Puerto Rico; several brothers and sisters and five grandchildren.

Jose was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico the son of Domingo and Maria (Alvarez) Ribot.

He worked for many years as a maintenance supervisor for a retail mall in Puerto Rico before becoming ill and moving to Southbridge.  In his younger years he drove truck for Tony's Fish and Seafood in New York and quickly became a local favorite with all his customers.  Jose was a hardworking man who was known by all his family and friends to be a humble dedicated person who could fix or help with just about anything.  He was a true handyman.  Jose loved his family and enjoyed music and dancing.  His true passion was caring for and taking care of animals.  Jose will be missed by so many and will be remembered and celebrated at a later date in Puerto Rico.

Funeral Service and burial for Jose will be private.  There are no calling hours.
