Southbridge: Kongkham Sirivongxay, 91, of South St., passed away on Thursday, July 6th, in the Odd Fellows Nursing Home, Worcester, after along illness. He is predeceased by his wife, Khamsai (Inthakoumane) Sirivongxay, who passed in 2001.

Kongkham was born in Laos as the fourth son of seven children to the late Seng and Kay (Chounlamountori) Insixiengmay.  He and his wife married in 1960, having a total of 6 children; 4 boys and 2 girls. Kongkham served as an officer in the Lao Army from 1961 to 1975, retiring with the rank as a Major.  In 1988, he and his wife migrated to the United States settling in Sacramento, CA for a better life while raising 2 of their grandchildren as their own.

After some time, he moved to Southbridge, MA in 2012 to live with his daughter, son in law and 2 grandchildren. He enjoyed watching sports, discussing politics, and spending time with his family. Kongkham leaves behind his children, grandchildren and many family members who will always remember him in his absence.

A funeral service for Kongkham will be held on Thursday, July 13th, at 10:30am in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  A cremation service will follow at 1:00pm in Rural Cemetery, Grove St., Worcester.  There are no calling hours.
