Sturbridge : Laura F. Carey, 61, of Main St., passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 15 ^th , 2020 following a recurrence of cancer. She previously resided in Dudley, MA for many years.

She leaves her daughter, Alyson R. Carey of North Providence, RI; and her mother, Dorothy M. (Gauvin) Carey of Southbridge, MA.  Laura was predeceased by her father, Anatole A. Carey.

She was born in Southbridge, MA.  Laura received an Associate's degree in Business Management.  She worked for AJEC Engineering Corp. in Oxford, MA as an Administrative Assistant for over 25 years prior to her initial cancer diagnosis. Laura enjoyed traveling and cruises to the Caribbean in her younger years. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Over the past few years, Laura really enjoyed helping friends sell antiques at the annual Brimfield Fairs.  She previously taught CCD at St. Stephen's Church in Quinebaug, CT for several years.  Laura was a loving mother and daughter who cherished her time with her daughter, Alyson and her beloved mother, Dorothy.

Laura's funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 22 ^th , at 10:00 am in Notre Dame Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 446 Main St., Southbridge.  Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Webster.  There are no calling hours.
