Obituary

Holland: Lawrence E. Lamontagne, 92, of Sandy Beach Rd., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 26th, in his home after a long illness.

His wife of 60 years, Pierrette M. "Pat" (Couture) Lamontagne, passed away in 2013.  He leaves his son, Mark L. Lamontagne and his wife Jill Siskind of Holland; his daughter, Denise M. Eckhardt and her husband Richard of Prescott, AZ; his two sisters, Rita Malenfant and her husband Ray of Stoughton and Rachel Caron of Sanford, ME; his three granddaughters, Courtney Eckhardt of Vancouver, BC, Canada, Jessica Jonas and her husband Michael of Cambridge and Brittany McGinn and her husband Chris of Prescott, AZ; and his great grandson, Jasper McGinn.  He was predeceased by his brother, Rene Lamontagne.  Larry was born in Sanford, ME the son of Joseph and Lena (Roy) Lamontagne.

Larry moved from Sanford to Warehouse Point, CT.  He served in the US National Guard in Sanford, ME and later in East Hartford, CT.  He moved to Holland to his beloved home on the lake many years ago.

Larry was a foreman at Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford for many years, before retiring many years ago.  One of his goals was to be retired for more years than he worked, which he achieved a few years ago.  He had a very strong faith and was a member of St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield for many years.  Larry was very self-sufficient - he could build and fix almost anything.  He also loved to cook.   Larry and Pat were members of the Airstream Club and loved to travel with their Airstream camper all over the Continental US and into Canada and Mexico.

A funeral Mass for Lawrence will be held on Friday, Jan. 5th, at 10:00am in St. Christopher's Church, 16 Sturbridge Rd., Rt. 20, Brimfield.  Burial will follow in Holland Cemetery, Holland.  There are no calling hours.
