Sturbridge: Lionel L. "Nel" Arpin, 88, formerly of Southbridge, passed away on Tuesday, April 25 ^th , in his home after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 38 years, Janice E. (Peet) Arpin; his daughter, Karen Arpin Krasinski and her husband Bruno of Brookfield; his step daughter, Laurie (Lemire) Pearson and her husband Michael of Sturbridge; his step son Paul Lemire of Southbridge; his two grandsons, Gary Krasinski and his wife Michele of Hudson, NH and Nick Krasinski and his wife Jacqueline of Sturbridge; his two step grandchildren, Katherine Dunn of Portland, ME and Kristopher Dunn of Seattle, WA; and his three great grandchildren, Alyssa, Lionel, Layton and one on the way. He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Moore. He was born in Southbridge the son of Armand and Flora (Brunell) Arpin. Nel was a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War.

Nel was a Realtor and owned and operated Nel Arpin Realty in Southbridge for 30 years, retiring several years ago. He previously worked for many years for Connecticut General Insurance. He was a former member of the Southbridge Rotary Club and was a Past President of the club. He was an avid reader. He loved the coast of Maine and Sunday afternoons at Tanglewood.

His funeral services will be private and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
