Southbridge: Louise T. (Tanca) Boilard, 89, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 5 ^th , in the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, Charlton, after a long illness.

Her husband of over 53 years, Jacques A. "Jake" Boilard, passed away in 2011.  She leaves her three children, Susan E. Bellerose and her husband William of Millbury, Michael J. Boilard and his wife Michelle of Brimfield and Peter J. Boilard and his wife Jennifer of Southbridge; her brother, James Tanca of Florida; her sister, Virginia Leahey of Southbridge; her four grandchildren, William Bellerose, Jr. and his wife Gabriella, Lauren Schmidt and her husband Adam, Brittany Boilard and Jake Boilard; 2 great grandchildren, Olivia Bellerose and Dominic Bellerose; and nieces and nephews.  She was born in North Grosvenordale, CT the daughter of Thanas D. and Mary (Lara) Tanca.  She was a graduate of the former Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge where she starred on the girls basketball team.

Louise was a legal secretary for Attorney Michael Caplette in Southbridge for many years, retiring several years ago.  She previously worked at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge. Louise was a devoted member of her beloved church, St. Michaels Romanian Orthodox Church in Southbridge, where she served as vice president of the churches Ladies Society and served as secretary for the church council.  She was also a member of the Southbridge Women's Club, the Red Hats Society and the Harrington Hospital Auxiliary.

Her greatest pleasures in life were spending time with her family, friends and her church.

She was an inspiration to all and led her life with a positive outlook and generous heart for everyone.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Overlook for all of the care and compassion they gave to Louise during her time there.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9 ^th , from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a service at 12:00pm in St. Michaels Romanian Orthodox Church, Romanian Ave., Southbridge.  Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9 ^th , from 9:00 to 11:30am, prior to the service.
