Sturbridge: MarieAnn E. (Dion) Fontaine, 81, passed away on September 15, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a long illness with her family by her side.

She leaves her husband of 17 years, Paul A. Fontaine; her daughter, Michelle Gray and her husband Eric of Charlton; her son, Michael Sierak and his husband Tim Walsh of Sturbridge; her two grandchildren, Joseph Gray and his wife Emily and Carlie Kenison and her husband Andrew; and her three great grandchildren, as well as several step children and their families.

Her son, Mark Sierak, predeceased her in 2020.  She was also predeceased by her husband, John Wetteland, in 2004.

Marie was born in Springfield the daughter of Marie Ann (Fontaine) Dion.  Marie owned and operated The Caterers, a catering service in Sturbridge, for many years.  She later owned and operated the Wetteland Tea Room in Sturbridge before retiring.

Marie enjoyed needlework, cooking, gardening, and traveling, having made several trips to Europe, the Caribbean and Hawaii.  Residents of Sturbridge will remember her contributions to The Giving Tree, food donations to the Sturbridge Senior Center, and her involvement in many local charitable organizations in the community.

Marie's funeral services and burial will be private.  There are no calling hours.
