Norwich, CT/Ludlow: Marion L. (Stone) Moriarty, 100, formerly of Ludlow and Southbridge, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 23rd, in the Complete Care at Harrington Court, Colchester, CT, after an illness.

Her husband, Joseph T. Moriarty, passed away in 1982.  She leaves her son, Paul J. Moriarty and his wife Terry of Norwich, CT; her two grandchildren, Mark J. Moriarty of NY and Kathleen A. Lamontagne and her husband Jeffrey of Ludlow; her six great grandchildren, Justin Lamontagne, Jeremy Lamontagne, Mark J. Moriarty II, Timothy Moriarty, Zachary Moriarty and Mariah Moriarty; 4 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was born in Worcester the daughter of John P. and Bertha L. (Gendron) Stone.  She was a graduate of Brookfield High School.

After her husband Joseph passed, Marion worked for Old Sturbridge Village at the Old Sturbridge Village Motel for 15 years.  She then moved to Manassas, VA and worked for Comfort One Shoes for several years before retiring many years ago.  She previously worked at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge.  She moved back to Ludlow, MA and resided there for 22 years before moving to Norwich, CT almost two years ago.  While in Ludlow she was a devoted member and volunteer at Saint Elizabeth Parish (formerly St. John the Baptist Parish).

Calling hours for Marion will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28th from 5:00 to 7:00pm in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  A funeral Mass for Marion will be held on Friday, Sept. 29th, at 10:00am in Saint Elizabeth Church, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow.  A graveside service will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Charlton St., Southbridge, at 12:30pm.
