Southbridge: Mary M. (Powers) Boukalis, 96, of Therese Ave., passed away on Friday, April 23 ^rd , in the Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge, after a brief illness.

Her husband, Nicholas B. Boukalis, passed away in 1999.  She leaves her brother, James W. Powers of Southbridge; her sister, Maureen E. Santilli of St. Petersburg, FL; and many niece and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  She was born in Southbridge the daughter of Maurice J. and Grace E. (Murphy) Powers.

Mary was a bookkeeper for the Publick House Restaurant in Sturbridge for many years.  She later moved to Cape Cod and worked as a bookkeeper for the Hearth and Kettle Restaurant in Hyannis for several years, retiring many years ago.  Mary's family was her greatest joy and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Mary's funeral will be held on Monday, May 3 ^rd , from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge.  Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Sunday, May 2 ^nd , from 4:00 to 6:00pm.
