Charlton
Charlton: Michael J. Sklarz, Jr., 14, of Ramshorn Rd., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 3rd.
Michael leaves behind his loving and caring parents, Michael J. and Carrie A. (Cook) Sklarz, his big sister, Arielle Sklarz who was not just his sibling but also his best friend, and his little brother, James Sklarz, who adored him. He also leaves his paternal grandmother, Sherry D'Ambra and her husband Ray of Worcester; his maternal grandfather, Dennis Cook of Woodstock, Connecticut; and many aunts, uncles and cousins along with many friends including his best friend, Chris Richardson and his family. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, James Sklarz and by his maternal grandmother, Donna Cook. He was a freshman at Shepherd Hill High School in Dudley.
Mikey was a bright, funny, and endlessly lovable kid. He had a goofy sense of humor that could light up a room, a kind heart that made others feel safe and seen, and a passion for outdoor activities, especially fishing. He loved nothing more than teaching a friend how to fish! Mikey also loved boating, riding bikes and ATV's, and camping. He loved to cook just like his grandfather Jim and enjoyed cooking breakfast for his friends. Mikey was the kind of kid who made friends easily and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He also had a mischievous side that was endearing. The love of Michael is far, wide and deep. Words can never express how he will be missed and his memory cherished. We will forever miss our little ray of sunshine.
A funeral service for Michael will be held on Saturday, June 14th, at 11:00am in St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brake the Silence Organization, 23 Lyons Rd., Dudley, MA 01571.
The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is assisting the family with arrangements.
