Southbridge :  Nancy B. Hajec, 77, passed away on Thursday, Jan.16 ^th , in the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, Charlton, after a short illness. She leaves her godchild, Lynn Walsh and her husband Joseph of Needham; and many dear friends.  She was born in Southbridge, the daughter of the late Chester J. and Helen (Remian) Hajec and lived her whole life in Southbridge.

Nancy was a registered nurse and worked for over 40 years in the labor and delivery department at Memorial Hospital in Worcester, retiring many years ago.  She was a devoted member of the former St. Hedwig's Parish (now St. John Paul II Parish) in Southbridge and a member of St. Hedwig's Holy Rosary Sodality.  For many years, Nancy was a longtime member of the Pilsudski Polish American Club in Southbridge.  Nancy loved shopping, traveling and being with friends.

Her family would like to thank the caregivers at UMass Medical Center, Worcester, Christopher Heights Assisted Living in Webster, and the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center in Charlton  for all their kindness over the past 6 months and throughout her illness.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 ^th , from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge.  A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 ^th , from 8:30 to 9:30am, prior to the Mass.
