East Brookfield/Sturbridge: Nellie (Vasiliadis) Gidopoulos, 65, of East Brookfield, formerly of Sturbridge, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 18th, surrounded by her family at UMass Memorial Hospital, University Campus, Worcester.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Haralambos "Bob" Gidopoulos; her two sons, Ted Gidopoulos and his wife Jenna of Sturbridge and George Gidopoulos and his wife Olga of Worcester; her brother, Frank Vasiliadis and his wife Angela of Cranston, RI; her five grandchildren, Nikolas Gidopoulos, Maya Gidopoulos, Ryan Gidopoulos, Kosta Gidopoulos and Ellie Gidopoulos; her sister-in-law, Sister Maria Vasiliadis of Concord, NH; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, Father Efthimios (Iordanis) Vasiliadis.  Nellie was born in Amfiali, Piraeus, Greece the daughter of George and Fotini (Xanthopoulou) Vasiliadis.

Nellie and her husband owned and operated Village Pizza Restaurant & Bar in Sturbridge for 34 years, retiring in 2017.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and she will forever be remembered as a warm, welcoming, and fun-loving woman.  She dedicated her life to her family, especially to her grandchildren and sons who were the pride and joy of her life.  She enjoyed vacationing in Aruba and spending time with those she loved.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 23rd, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a funeral service at 11:00am in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 55 North St., Southbridge.  Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge.  Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Monday, Jan. 22nd, from 5:00 to 8:00pm.
