Falmouth: Orlandina "Dina" (Fontana) Barnes, 100, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at the Royal Nursing Center in Falmouth, Ma after a long illness.

Born on July 7 1920 in Springfield Ma to the late Pompilio and Armida Fontana, she grew up in Southbridge.

Dina was the loving wife of Herbert C Barnes for 45 years.  She is survived by her son Herbert H Barnes and his wife Jo-Ann of Falmouth; her three grandsons Scott Barnes and his wife Courtney of San Diego, Ca, Jeffrey Barnes and his wife Stephanie of San Diego, Ca, Jonathan Barnes of Marlborough, Ma; her three great grandchildren, Jacob Barnes, Hailey Barnes and Mitchell Barnes.

She leaves her brother Harry Fontana and his wife Dorothy and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her three sisters, Eleanor Bardy, Irene Champagne and Lillian Mandeville.

Dina, along with her husband and her sister Eleanor and her husband owned and operated Bardy ad Barnes Florist in Southbridge for 10 years.  She also worked at the American Optical Company.  She was a member of the St. Mary's Parish and the St. Rita's Society.

Dina's funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 30 ^th , at 10:00am in the Notre Dame Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 446 Main St., Southbridge.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge.  There are no calling hours.
