Brimfield: Patricia A. Kusek, 78, of West Old Sturbridge Rd., passed away on Dec. 7 ^th , in her home with her family by her side after a long illness.

Her longtime companion, Robert J. Dion, passed away in 2005.  She leaves her daughter, Pamela J. Tavares and her husband Russell of Oxford; her two stepsons, Robert J. Dion, Jr. and his wife Rosemary of West Brookfield and Randy A. Dion and his wife Paula of Brimfield; her six grandchildren, Nick Tavares, Erik Tavares, Samantha Jo Dion, Stephanie Dion, Dwight Dion and Brett Dion; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her two brothers, John Kusek and Edward Kusek.  Patricia was born in Southbridge the daughter of John J. Kusek and Gertrude E. (Blair) Kusek Julien.

Patricia was employed at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge for 33 years, retiring many years ago.  She was an avid outdoors enthusiast, enjoying fishing, hunting, and watching birds.  She also enjoyed going to flea markets.  Most of all she loved her dog, Shylo.

A graveside service for Patricia will be held on Friday, Dec. 16 ^th , at 12:00pm in the Brimfield Cemetery, Brimfield.  There are no calling hours.
