Pauline A.
Beaudry
May 23, 1929 — Aug 27, 2022
Southbridge
Southbridge: Pauline A. Beaudry passed peacefully in her sleep on the morning of August 27th, 2022.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Paul A. Beaudry, with whom she shared forty-four years of marriage, her parents Estelle (St. Pierre) Trudeau and Antoine A.Trudeau. Pauline is also predeceased by her brothers Antoine Trudeau and his wife Elaine, Richard Trudeau and his wife Mary, Ronald Trudeau and his wife June, and her sister Anne Brodeur and her husband David. She is survived by her sisters Suzanne Yvon and her husband Norman of Woodstock, CT and Madlyn Berthiaume and her husband Robert of Southbridge. Pauline is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
Pauline graduated from Ecole St. Jeanne D'Arc in Southbridge; she then entered the Sisters of the Assumption in Nicolette, Canada and later joined the Sisters of the Assumption in Petersham. After leaving the Sisters of the Assumption, Pauline worked for many years at the American Optical as a Quality Assurance Supervisor. She was known to detect flaws and issues with production when no one else could.
In 1965 she married Paul Beaudry, who quickly became her constant travel companion. Pauline and Paul fell in love with Cape Cod, where they built a summer home in West Dennis. They eventually moved to West Yarmouth, where they owned and operated Beachwood Cottages for a number of years, serving as summer employment for many family members. During the winter months, they would eventually travel to Port Charlotte, Florida where they built a winter home. No matter where they went, whether it be Florida, the Bahamas, Europe, or many cruises, they would include Estelle in all of their travelling adventures.
Pauline was a devout Catholic and parishioner at Sacred Heart parish in Southbridge and later at St. Anne's and St. Patrick parish in Fiskdale. Pauline was known to be a spiritual matriarch of the family, always praying to her beloved Mary on behalf of all living and deceased family members.
Pauline is also known for her love of her deep blue hydrangeas at Cape Cod, roses, and cleaning. If there were ever a place where one could "eat off of the floor," it was definitely at Pauline and Paul's house. Even at the age of 93, Pauline was playing games of cribbage with anyone who was willing to play with her. She not only played in her last few months, but she was known to win, even with more seasoned cribbage players. When nieces and nephews visited, she demanded a proper hug or a firm handshake, which she was known to demonstrate to anyone giving her a "floppy hand."
Pauline was well taken care of at her home right up until the end by her family members, and the family would like to thank Laura's Guardian Angels and the Visiting Nurse Association from Overlook, who assisted a great deal during Pauline's final months.
A funeral Mass for Pauline will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3rd, at 10:00am in St. Anne Church, 16 Church St., Sturbridge. Burial will follow in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge. There are no calling hours.
The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
