Quinebaug, CT: Rita M. (Sobieski) Cardenali, 88, of Creamery Brook, Brooklyn, CT and previously from Quinebaug, CT, passed away on Wednesday, May 10th, in UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, after an illness.

She leaves her son, Michael J. Warren and his wife Karen of Pierceton, IN; her four brothers, Joseph Sobieski, Richard Sobieski, Peter Sobieski and William Sobieski; two sisters, Pauline Sobieski and Mary Jane Sobieski; her three grandchildren, Sydney, Zack and Nicole; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her extended step-family of CT, MA, NC and WA. Rita was predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Cardenali, her long-time companion of 20 years, Marion "Skip" Czajka; and her two brothers, John Sobieski and Anthony Sobieski.

Rita was born in Webster the daughter of John M. and Eva (Talbot) Sobieski. She worked for 45 years as a Customer Service Representative for American Optical prior to retiring many years ago. Rita loved her job and enjoyed working, trips to the casino and traveling to Marco Island in Florida.

Funeral Services and burial for Rita will be private. There are no calling hours.
