Brimfield: Robert A. Gentile, 74, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 22 ^nd , from injuries sustained in a fire in his home.

He leaves his husband of 16 years, Alan R. Kastner; his son, Jeremy Gentile and his wife Lori of Santa Cruz, CA; his brother, Vincent Gentile and his wife Paula of North Carolina; his sister Judith Normandin and her longtime companion Tony DiSalvo  of Hampden, CT; his two grandsons, Dylan Gentile and Brody Gentile; and nieces and nephews.  He was born in Springfield the son of the late Vincent and Jeanette (Theiburt) Gentile.

Robert worked for Macy's in Holyoke for many years and later for JC Penny in Sturbridge for many years, retiring a few years ago.  Bobby loved living at his home on Little Alum Lake and spending his time outdoors.  He loved his dogs and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.  There are no calling hours and his burial will be private.
