Gilbertville: Rodney W. Lechert, 77, of Main St., Gilbertville, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 19th, in the Bay State Medical Center, Springfield, after an illness.

He leaves his daughter, Jennifer A. Durfee and her longtime companion Kevin Splaine of Southbridge; and his granddaughter, Cassandra Moninski of Southbridge.  He was born in Webster the son of the late Joseph and Janet (Guertin) Lechert.

Rodney was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

A graveside service for Rodney in the Massachusetts Veteran's Cemetery in Agawam will be private.  There are no calling hours.

The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
